The talented musicians Mario HOSSEN, violin, and Joel Mathias JENNY, conductor of LES ORPHEISTES Festival Orchestra have chosen for the release popular and well-loved pieces. The only exception is the work composed specially for this programme: Winter Music by the Swiss composer Walter Baer. Its world premiere was in Bulgaria.
The young violin player Mario HOSSEN is well-known to Bulgarian and international music audience. He finished the Plovdiv School of Music and continued his studies in the Vienna Academy of Music. After receiving an award from the Austrian Ministry of Culture, he began his brilliant career in Europe, North America and Asia. He has received numerous awards at international competitions and festivals in Europe. In 2004 Gega New released his CD - "Paganiniana", which features his recordings of virtuoso violin works by Paganini, and pieces written in the style of Paganini.
The Swiss conductor Joel Mathias JENNY graduated from the Music Conservatory of Zurich and the Music Conservatory of Basel. He furthered his studies under Professor Hans Lowlein, former Chief Conductor of the Berlin Staatsoper. Mr. Jenny's repertoire includes music ranging from classical to contemporary. He has recorded with the English Chamber Orchestra, the Camerata St. Petersburg, etc.
LES ORPHEISTES Festival Orchestra also contributes to the success of this release. It comprises musicians from Sofia Soloists, Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra, and Plovdiv Philharmonic Orchestra.
