| | The present release, entitled "In Praise of the Nativity", includes Orthodox chants and spiritual songs dedicated to the Feast of the Nativity of Our Lord. In the beginning the listeners hear the troparion and the kontakion for the Nativity, whose text makes us familiar in brief with the meaning of the Feast. There follows "O Gladsome Radiance", and ancient Christian hymn. The music by Prof. Dobri Hristov (1875-1941), the distinguished Bulgarian composer, conductor and educator.
The solemn concert entitled "Shout Joyfully to God" is by Prof. Alexander Grechaninov (1864-1956), a Russian composer. Of the catabasias of the Feat the listeners will hear only the first part (in the Obikhod chant) and the Little Litany by Ivan Kochetov (1894-1974), a conductor, composer and educator, who came to Bulgaria from Russia in 1921. "Glory to God in the Highest" by the Russian composer Dmitriy Botniansky (1751-1825), based on the text of a sticheron from the Service for the Nativity, is one of the beautiful concerts usually performed on the Feast Presented is also the song "Silent Night, Holy Night", which is the most popular Christmas carol and is known all over the world. It has been included here too, although it does not belong to the Slavonic Orthodox tradition.
